Music, sports and travelling

Hi readers! Like I said you in the last post, the last weeks I have been working in a questionnaire related to hobbies, that are music, travelling and sports. Fourteen people answered me, so seeing the percentages  I am going to do a summary of all of them. Say that all peple have done my questionnaire is 15-16 years old.

Concerning music, approximately 85% of the people say that they listen to music, and the rest don´t listen to it. To the majority of the people who listen to music like Ska, reggae and pop , and the rest prefer reggaeton, heavy metal or rap. 13 out of 14 listen to music every day, and one person says that he/she listen to music only in specific days.

Plenty of the students hear to music in three languages: Basque, Spanish and English. Most of them use the mobilphone to hear it, and some of them the computer. However, the radio or the MP3 are not used for anyone. A significant part of the interviewees  use the music to relax (mostly), and also to enjoy, disconnect, motivate... To finish with, only 2 out of 14 have a musical idol, that are: Steve Harris (bassist of the group Iron Maiden) and the already died basque singer  Xalbador.

Regarding sports, 100% of the students practice it, and they all are part of one team. Approximately 50% of them play football, other 4 people (more than 25%) play basketball, and the rest practice other sports like Basque pilota, cycling, athletics, swimming, rowing... This sports take mostly between 2-5 and 5-10 hours to the students, and in some exception, more than 10 or between 1 and 2 hours. In addition, I asked them if they have to choose only one sport for the rest of their lifes which would be, and here there is a lot of variety of sports; football, basketball and Basque pilota are the most elected, and the other are tennis, ski, rowing, rhythmic gymnastics... Finally, say that for 13 out of 14 sport is very important in their lifes, and only for 1 it have not any importance.

The last theme is travelling, and all the interviewees have ever done it. The majority, the first time travelled to places near Basque country, to different cities of Spain. Although, if they have to choose one country or city to travel right now, almost all would say a place out of Spain. A high percent of the students usually want to relax and to do tourism when the travel, and few of them also check the culture or taste the gastronomy. 6 out of 14 mates travel 1-2 times in a year, and other 6 between 2-5. But also are exceptions, and are that one person doesn´t travel and another that travels more than 5 times in a year.

As a conclusion, I ask them to put one mark to my questionnaire, and the average is for 7.5 out of 10.

Interview to Mikel Oyarzabal

Hi readers! Today we have here, with us, a football player that is being a revolution in the Real Sociedad, the young Mikel Oyarzabal, and we have the opportunity to interview him.

  1. IBAI: When were you born?
MIKEL: I was born on the 21 of april of 1997. So actually I am 19 years old.
  2. IBAI: Where are you from?
MIKEL: I was born in Eibar, a city of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque country. Nowadays, I also live there.
  3. IBAI: When did you start playing football?
MIKEL: I started playing football very young. My father was a professional football player in Eibar, so in my beginnings I remember that I played with him. I would be 4-5 years old.
  4. IBAI: You are a professional football player and you are only 18, how is that possible taking into account you are so young?
MIKEL: The key is to work. The last season I was in the third team of my club, I did a good job and this is the recompense that I am having. But also there are other factors like the luck. People of the first team that play in my position got injured, so the coach told me to go with them to play a match. I did a nice input to the team, and since those day I am training and playing with the first team. I repeat it, the key is to work, work and work.
  5. IBAI: Are you studying apart from playing football?
MIKEL: Yes, of course. I am doing a business career in San Sebastian. In "batxiler" I had very good marks, and I decided to study this career because I like it and it is in San Sebastian, so I have my studies and my football team in the same place, and I have a very good luck. However, say that actually I train everyday, and sometimes twice in a day, so I am loosing a lot of classes that later I will have to recover.
  6. IBAI: What was your debut like? What did you feel at that moment?
MIKEL: It was really amazing, simply the greatest experience of my life. My debut was in Anoeta, so it was a unique moment. The fact of debut in a stadium that I always have gone to support my team was an inexplicable sensation, a place where approximately 40.000 people was looking me and shouting my name... this was incredible, and I have to give thanks to all Real Sociedad supporter that are doing real this dream.
  7. IBAI: What is the best achievement you have made in football?
MIKEL: I have a lot of trophies and achievements that I have won since I was very young. In my short professional career I would sa ythe goal that I scored against Barcelona three weeks ago. It was a very nice goal and very significant for me. Apart from this, I have to say that the best achievement is to be in this club, the best club of the world.
  8. IBAI: What does your family think about your status? Do they support you? MIKEL: They are so excited and motivated. It is a very positive notice for them, and they are always advseing and helping me, cause of I am very young and they feel the responsability to care and help me.
9. IBAI: And your girlfriend?
MIKEL: My girlfriend is also very happy and excited for the opportunity I am having. Her only complaint is that now we are less time together, and I am agree with him.

10. IBAI: What plans do you have for the future?
MIKEL:  I have contract until 2019. For my part I have very clear my ideas: if Real Sociedad wants to renove me I would be charmed to do it. In the case that the club wants to leave me in 2019, if it is posible, I would have to find other alternative that attracks me.

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS - GABRIELE MUCCINO

The Pursuit of Hapyness is an American famous film created in 2006. The director was the Italian Gabriele Muccino, that before this film he has worked  from making short films only aired on Italian television, and later becomes a well-known and successful American filmmaker. The Pursuit of Happyness  is considered an American biographical drama film based on entrepreneur Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle being homeless.

The protagonist  is Will Smith and he is called Chris Gardner in the film. He has done famous films like "Bad boys", "Independence Day" or "Men in black". The second protagonist is the son of will Smith, called Jaden Smith. In the film also is his son with the name of Christopher Gardner Jr. We most know Jaden Smith, because of the famous and succesfull film "The Karate Kid", produced in 2010. The third protagonist is Thandie Newton,as Linda Gardner (the wife and later ex of Chris Gardner). The rest of characters they are not so relevant in the film, like Brian Howe as Jay Twistle, Dan Castellaneta as Alan Frakesh, James Karen as Martin Frohm or Kurt Fuller as Walter Ribbon.

In 1981, in San Francisco, Chris Gardner (Will Smith)  invests his savings of his life in portable scaners of bone density that he tries to sell to the doctors.  The investment is a failure, and leave in bankruptcy to the family. As a consequence, his wife Lisa Gardner (Thandie Newton) decides to leave the relationship and she move house to New York. His son Christopher (Jaden Smith) remains with his father. Trying to sell one of the scaners in the city, Chris Gardner knows to Jay Twistle (Brian Howe), a promoter of Dean Witter and he makes a good impression to him resolving a Rubik's Cube during a short travel in one taxi. Chris Gardner doesn't have enough money to pay the taxi and he runs away to the metro station. However, he losts a scaner in the process. This new relation with Twistle gives him a opportunity to become in a intern stockbroker...

From my point of view, The Pursuit of Happyness is one of the best film I have seen in my life. I am not nothing sentimental with films, but this one caused me a special emocion, and I finished crying. The intention of the film is to show us that if we really want something we never have to give up, and we have to fight to achieve it. In this case, Chris Gardner (Will Smith) does anything for his son, and finally he achieve what he wants, and the most important thing, he makes happy to his son Christopher (Jaden Smith). In my opinion, Will Smith does a perfect interpretation of his character, and is the main reason which I love the film.

Here you have the best part of the film for me, is the scene where Chris (Will Smith) takes his son, to play basketball and tells him to never give up on his dreams:
